Find out when composer Nicholas Britell joins Apple Music's Classical Connections Radio show tomorrow - and listen to an exclusive clip here!
How did Nicholas Britell, the composer of the score for the Award-winning HBO series Succession, write a theme for the Roy family? That's what the Emmy Award-winner and multiple Oscar nominee will be discussing with pianist and composer Alexis Ffrench on his Classical Connections Radio show tomorrow, available on Apple Classical Music.
Ffrench's show explores the links between the worlds of classical music and other styles, taking listeners on unexpected pathways: 'We’re going to be zipping from here to there, but everything is going to be connected and curated,' is how he describes it. 'I see myself as a musical concierge!' Journeys so far have linked Drake with Debussy and Miley Cyrus with Vivaldi, but tomorrow it's the turn of Britell to offer insights into his distinctive creative process, and to talk about how he put himself in the mindset of the fictional media dynasty, asking: 'If I were the Roy family, what would be the music that the Roy family would imagine for themselves – if you said to them, 'What's your music?'"
Listen to an exclusive clip below - and for the full interview tune in to Classical Connections Radio tomorrow, Saturday May 13, at 6pm UK time.
